SILENT HILL: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall is a psychological horror game set in a small, isolated town that carries the same uneasy weight as the series’ classic fog-covered locations, but with a distinctly different flavor. It’s being made by No Code, the studio behind Stories Untold and Observation, and the teaser pointed toward intimate, grounded horror rather than big cinematic set pieces. That suggests the gameplay will lean heavily on slow exploration, environmental storytelling, and puzzle-solving instead of combat-heavy survival.

What’s been shown so far hints at a first-person perspective and a strong focus on atmosphere—cracked screens, static, radio interference, and the feeling that something is wrong just below the surface. If it follows the pattern of No Code’s earlier games, you’d spend most of your time examining objects, piecing together fragmented clues, and moving through spaces that shift in unsettling ways. Combat may exist, but it would likely be clumsy and desperate rather than empowering, keeping you vulnerable from start to finish.

The series’ signature elements would probably show up in some form—fog, radio static, otherworldly transitions, and a protagonist carrying guilt or trauma—but No Code tends to favor psychological dread over gore, so expect a quieter, more personal kind of scary.

Structurally, it could be a shorter, tightly paced experience rather than a sprawling survival horror campaign, since the studio’s previous games were compact and narratively focused. There may be multiple endings or interpretive layers, which is common for this style of horror.

The honest answer is that nobody outside the studio knows how it plays yet. Until Konami and Annapurna release real gameplay footage, anything more specific than this is just informed guessing.
