Mech Mechanic Simulator Gameplay

Cars are a thing of the past. In the world of Mech Mechanic Simulator, the only machines that matter are mechs: giant, powerful robots that do everything from heavy labor to warfare. And you, conveniently, are the person who fixes them. You start with a small workshop in the futuristic city of Katwir, a handful of simple jobs and a very big dream of competing with the largest corporations on the planet.

The core loop is hands-on and tactile. A mech rolls into your garage, and your job is to examine it, work out which parts are damaged and take them off. You can order new parts, but even badly broken pieces aren’t a lost cause. You can renew and restore them, sell what you can’t fix, or melt the rest down and craft something entirely new. Some jobs ask you to repaint a machine, others need upgrades so a mech can handle a new role. There’s a virtual shooting range where you can test your repairs and upgrades, which is a nice touch if you’ve just reworked a weapon system.

As your reputation grows, so does the work. Bigger, more advanced mechs become available, and your workshop needs improvements to keep up. Expenses pile up, parts break constantly, and clients expect more and more from you. Meanwhile, the corporations around you are less and less happy about the little repair shop that’s become a serious competitor. Eventually you can try your hand at building the most advanced mech in the world.

A fair warning, though: this is a game that divides players. Steam reviews are Mixed overall, with roughly 61% positive across more than 500 reviews, so it isn’t for everyone. The good news is that there’s a free demo, and the game is frequently discounted heavily, so you can see for yourself whether the repair-and-build loop clicks with you.
