BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is a short psychological horror game that messes with you in a very specific way—it forces you to talk. The whole premise is built around a creepy little interrogation setup where you’re sitting in front of a computer terminal, and something on the other end is asking you questions. Not multiple choice questions. Actual questions you have to answer by typing or speaking, depending on your setup. And the game is watching how you respond. That’s the hook, and it’s a genuinely uncomfortable one because most horror games let you hide behind a controller. This one puts you in the hot seat and makes you participate.

The gameplay itself is mostly point-and-click exploration mixed with dialogue choices and light puzzle-solving. You move between a few rooms in what looks like an old office or research facility, clicking on objects, reading documents, and finding codes or keys that let you dig deeper into whatever is going on. The atmosphere is thick with dread—dim lighting, CRT monitors, static, and a soundtrack that knows exactly when to stay quiet. There’s no combat, no chase sequences, and barely any traditional jumpscares. The fear comes from the writing and the slow realization that the thing asking you questions already knows more about you than it should.

Where DON’T LIE stands out is in how it handles lying. The game actively tracks whether you’re honest, evasive, or outright deceptive, and your answers change how the story unfolds. Some endings only unlock if you tell the truth. Others require you to lie your way through. That mechanic gives the short runtime real replay value, because you’ll want to go back and see what happens if you answer differently. It’s not a long game—you can finish it in an hour or two—and some players will find the interactivity gimmicky. But if you’re into meta-horror that blurs the line between the game and the person playing it, this one gets under your skin in a way few games do.
