Stickility Gameplay

Biotec is a company with a lot to hide. It’s been investigated several times, and nothing has ever been found. Stickility sends you underground to find out the truth for yourself, deep inside a facility that looks like a stickman cartoon but plays like a proper metroidvania. The art style leans on the look and characters of old Flash games, which gives the whole thing a nostalgic charm that’s easy to fall for.

The structure will feel familiar if you like the genre: a big, interconnected map, locked paths that open up as you get stronger, hidden corners worth poking around in, and bosses waiting at the end of the harder stretches. The facility changes character as you go, from smoky labs and atmospheric server halls to warehouses, sewers, greenhouses and caves, and every area has its own enemies and secrets to uncover.

The hook is crafting. Instead of just finding upgrades lying around, you gather scavenged tech and resources and build your own weapons, equipment and tools. That gives exploration a purpose beyond the map, because every new area might hold something you need to craft your next improvement. Combat is fast and acrobatic, and a survival-style menu lets you swap weapons mid-fight, so you can change your playstyle on the fly.

It’s also impressive for what it is: a one-person project that the developer has described as years in the making. Players have praised the fast travel and the ability to jump straight back to a boss you died to, which cuts down on annoying runbacks. If you want a quirky, charming metroidvania with a crafting twist, Stickility is worth a look, and there’s a free demo on Steam to try first.
